Our location, reason for our activity
The unique character of Ubrique
Located in the heart of the Sierra de Cádiz, Ubrique is a town famous for its tanned leather; main source of wealth of the population since Roman times. It is also because of its history, its cultural and ethnographic heritage. Thus, it became one of the most singular white towns in the Serrania de Cádiz.
The leather goods, activity inherited from the old Roman tanneries, has placed Ubrique in a privileged place within the socioeconomic panorama. Its leather articles are highly valued worldwide, both for its variety as for its quality and finish. Currently most of the population depends on this activity.
The cultural and patrimonial offer of this town is quite attractive. The Museum of the Skin, located in the Convent of the Capuchins (17th century), shows the Moroccan tradition from its beginnings; and the Interpretation Center of the History of Ubrique, located in the Hermitage of San Juan de Letrán (17th century), tells the past and the present of the town.
